Financial assistance for the EWT or OJT programs under the Workforce Investment Act is currently unavailable due to funding constraints.  Workforce Escarosa will issue an invitation to apply for EWT in June 2008, for training to be conducted during fiscal year 2008-2009 (July 1, 2008 - June 30, 2009.)  Please check this website in early June to obtain information on the application process.  The OJT program should re-open beginning July 1, 2008.

The EWT program can help a business offset training costs for current employees who require skill upgrading to maintain their employment.  This may include training on new equipment, product lines, internal management changes, safety, etc.  Employers may be reimbursed for instructor costs (internal or external to the employer) and training materials.  The employed worker is an employed individual who is served at the local level using local funds allocated to Workforce Escarosa by the state.  The program is similar to the Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) program; however, IWT is administered by the State's Workforce Florida, Inc., and is funded through state level set-aside funding, which is not allocated to the local Workforce Board (e.g. Workforce Escarosa).
